Kurt von Emster

Kurt von Emster was elected a director of Facet Biotech in February 2009. Mr. von Emster currently serves as a Managing Director of venBio. From November 2000 to March 2009, Mr. von Emster was Managing Director of MPM BioEquities and a Portfolio Manager for the MPM BioEquities Fund.  From July 1989 to November 2000, Mr. von Emster was with the Franklin Templeton Group, most recently as a Vice President and Portfolio Manager.  Mr. von Emster is currently a member of the board of directors at Somaxon Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a public biotechnology company.  Mr. von Emster is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), a member of the Association for Investment Management and Research and of the Security Analysts of San Francisco. Mr. von Emster received his B.S. degree from the University of California at Santa Barbara.
